I bet, if she stayed the original Queen of Blades, she'd be as possessed during LotV as all the Protoss who didn't cut their nerve chords. And like the original Zerg, she was no longer subject to a hive mind, or to Amon's influence. She doesn't exactly reinfest herself, as much as become primal Zerg. After "losing" Raynor, all she had left was her revenge on Mengsk, and she took all she could to reach that goal, including Zeratul's advice for more power on Zerus. So the quadrant needed her stopped before she destroyed everyone, and Narud wanted to harness the resulting energy.Īfter becoming human again, her abnormally high psionic power allowed her to still exert control over the Zerg, and most of the Swarm leaders (queens etc) still saw her as the Queen of Blades. During the process of unzerging her with the artifact, supposedly absurd amounts of psionic energy was released, which Narud used to bring Amon back. This is why Kerrigan describes his influence as more of a faint whisper of a memory. While Kerrigan being subject to Amon's influence was in itself a good thing, Amon was long dead. When it infested Kerrigan, she was subject to the same influence.ĭuran/Narud was a Xel'Naga, doing Amon's bidding.

The Overmind itself, while intelligent, was in a way a prisoner in its own body, with no free will. Spoilerful reply, hope I won't mess this up:Īmon finds the Zerg on Zerus, messes them up (turning most of them into a hive, under the Overmind's control).
